Include &apos;do nothing&apos; as a solution&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Try and quantify business case in terms of cost savings, business benefits and also money you won&apos;t have to spend with the old way of doing things (cost avoidance) &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Make sure you know how to realise the benefits (you may need somebody else to do something!&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt; Know your business case inside out - especially financially!&lt;br /&gt;

Project startup is probably the most critical time for a project in that it is here that the initial planning work is done, impressions are made and communications started.  Here are my top tips for a successful project startup&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1) Manage your customer - Try and thing like the customer by putting yourself in their shoes - and involve them in the planning &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
2) Make sure you (and the team) understand what you are contracted to deliver (and what you are not!)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
3) Split the project into phases if it is getting too complicated - define clear deliverables at the end of each phase&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
4) Plan, plan, plan - involve customers and your own delivery teams&lt;br /&gt;
